Kiwi Seed Extract

Products derived from kiwi fruit and in particular kiwi seeds (Actinidia chinensis Planch) are rising stars in the beauty and skincare industry. Rich in tocotrienols, flavanol glycosides (kaempfenol 3-O-rhamnoside) and omega-3 essential fatty acids (α-linolenic acid), kiwi seeds contain a powerhouse of anti-aging phytonutrients. Compelling clinical studies have shown that Kiwi Seed Extract inhibits 5α-reductase and the lipase of P. acnes, mitigating acne development at the source. Other studies have demonstrated that topical application of Kiwi Seed Extract is effective in maintaining healthy skin pH and moisture levels. In vitro studies have also highlighted the potential for Kiwi Seed Extract to be effective in combatting “under eye darkness” and unwanted wrinkles.
